Braggot Rights

On September 9th, 2016 the AleChemist team produced three Braggot' s ( Honey Ale ) for a charity event and brewing competition benefiting the Dear Jack Foundation which serves to aid adolescents whom are cancer fighters and hopefully survivors. We had a blast making these brews and being able to participate and help out such a worth while cause. Our entries were in three categories and each contained a different honey to showcase the style of beer as well as our company's mission, Honey! While we didn't score big technically on fault completely as I entered flat bottles...we did take first in Flight Awards for our Sweet Stout, "Lunacy" 11.7% Alc/Vol off the tap! This Stout was brewed with Colorado Alfalfa and mountain honey. Our other entries included a Strong Ale " Apis Aurum" the Golden Bee, created with White Clover Honey 12.2% Alc/Vol. and a spiced ale "Solis Ginjah" Created with Orange Blossom Honey and fresh Ginger, 9.7% Alc/Vol.

These three Braggot's were served with a taster of the honey used to create each brew which allowed the taster an inside look into our creations and our products. We love our Colorado community and appreciate events like this to help sustain and help build community. Special Thanks to Austin Clayton, Kirby "Tinny" Ray, Shanna Sheridan and Matt Newman for helping Marco and I throughout the process and on event day. Check out what Colorado Startup Brews had to say about us!

AleChemist Apiaries is shooting for Braggot Rights by bringing the Honey to Colorado Startup Brews. Posted by Hannah Annalora on Sep 8th, 2016 Tweet In old Viking times, the desired beverage to keep individuals happy and warm in the cold winters was a mixed concoction of barley-based ale and honey mead. This delicious drink was carried on through the ages and perfected. The name for this tasty libation? Braggot. Like the Vikings, the folks over at AleChemist Apiaries have a taste for this honey-based beverage. Ale Chemist isn’t what you think of when you hear the word ‘startup’; they represent something a bit sweeter. AleChemist is a local Apiary that produces Honey and other hive products, bees wax, pollen, propolis and royal jelly. The founders Daniel Drew Warner and Marco Dominguez came together in 2014 to bring together some of their favorite things: beer and honey. They bought a dozen of commercial hives and started producing local honey and hive products. They have built out their commercial kitchen and continue to work towards building a brewery. Warner has been brewing with mead since the 90’s and has perfected his craft throughout the years. AleChemist has brought their specialty to the competition this year at Colorado Startup Brews with three honey ales, each with a unique honey and beer style base. They will be offering the following:1. English Brown: An old world dark braggot brewed with lots of toasted and roasted malts. It also includes mild additions of noble hops, Fuggles and Saaz. As a true braggot this ale was also brewed with 50% of its fermentable sugars coming from honey. In this case, they used a high altitude wildflower honey from 10,000 ft. alpine meadows on the western slope of Colorado.2. American Pale Ale: A heavy pale ale braggot with a malty character. This ale is infused with honey malt, loads of victory, crystal malts, and balanced with white clover blossom with a sweet marshmallow quality. This braggot was mildly hopped with American hops, Northern Brewer and Nugget. 3. Spiced Ale: A true ginger ale braggot brewed with loads of Marris Otter barley, two pounds of fresh ginger added at various intervals, and bold citrus hop additions -- Cascade and Amarillo. It is balanced with an incredible orange blossom honey. If these delicious descriptions aren’t enough to make you buy a ticket to Colorado Startup Brews, the folks over at AleChemist also plan to sweeten the deal by sampling the honey used in each particular beer previous to their pour.Get your tickets for CSB to take AleChemist’s delicious beers now: company OmbudView company profileVisit their site + Create Job Alert Trending blog postsFind a job you love: 7 Colorado companies hiring right now by Jess Ryan10 Things Any Software Company Can Learn From FC Barcelona Promoted By New Relic From cortados to kebabs, here are 8 of Colorado tech's favorite coffee shops and lunc... by Jess Ryan 10 Things Any Software Company Can Learn From FC Barcelona Promoted By New Relic Post a comment Sign In or Create an Account to post comments Follow on LinkedIn Like on Facebook Follow on Twitter ContactPremium Talent SolutionsSend Us a TipGeneral InquiriesBecome a SponsorAboutOur TeamOur InvestorsTerms of UsePrivacy PolicyPowered ByBuilt In AustinBuilt In ChicagoBuilt In ColoradoBuilt In LABuilt In NYCBuilt In Boston Oh no!You're fresh out of job post slots.Upgrade your planmanage current jobs Create an accountFacebookconnect with FacebookLet startups find youCreate a profile and upload your resume today.Facebookconnect with Facebook Invite Your Contacts to Built In ColoradoInvite Gmail ContactsInvite Facebook contactShare link on TwitterExplore the local startup scene, find yourdream job and hang with fellow techies. No sales pitches, just awesome original content.
